I like the melody, and the cheesy synth-y drums, but I don't like your melodic instruments. Especially that lead.

Not really into that whole demoscene/chiptune stuff...

1) Usually tend to make it out of nostalgia, not always but I hear a lot do.

If i wanted nostalgia i'd still act like a 5 year old playing Super Mario Bros on the old NES.

2)particularly the demoscene stuff, it always had this or at least it gave me this too clean/polished feel to it... it doesn't inspire much in me. Leaves me flat. I can stand some tunes, but it's rare here and there. Not my cup of tea though.

Anyway, nonetheless I think your composition it done nicely. Don't see any fault in it. Mixing is ace well, me thinks. It's all done rather well actually. Sure other instruments could have been chosen, but I think you had a certain sound you were going for e.g. demoscene/90's chiptune, which you well set out and accomplished. I guess it's just not my thing really.
