fuck yea man, was just about to post this. i'm pumped. moreso that it's been remastered. $10 says it's got at least panty shot, potentially fuck dyin. i'm actually kinda excited.
i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tour at all this year and instead just released this "Tighter" and probably a new record.
EDIT:
APRIL 26TH, YO.
what the fuck jimmy, no damn panty shot? however, i like that This Isn't Good is here. I wonder if it's gonna be the version we know of or the elusive "original tight version" that i've read about that has slightly different lyrics, etc... Also, wtf Dickface DEMO? This'll be interesting as I always thought dickface was one of the better tracks on the album. i do not like that it looks like damn remixes are gonna be on here. otherwise, i'm actually fucking buying this thing instead of downloading it.
now hurry up and release Frankenstein Girls remastered.

27. Free As A Birdie
Yeah i will aswell, but I would like to think that it'll be small changes, maybe even improve the quality or something. I doubt he'd do a George Lucas. I'm expecting a YRTA level of remastering, honestly. I'm more interested in the chances of hearing new material and demos than the actual songs contained therein. It's a shame half the "new tracks" sound like it's going to be minute or so long diddies from years ago a la Food/hopeless and the last track sounds like the title to a steve singing solo whilst playing his quitar song. tight 8bit i hope is not a remix but a demo. would give me a reference point for all those "i made my music on old computer programs" quotes Ive read from Jimmy since the beginning.
Maybe less people bought them than we thought did haha
And to think, DLN was to be the original starting place of them milking the fuck outta their releases. Remember how they were supposed to rerelease it with some extra tracks, extended versions, a dvd, etc... I've always kinda been annoyed at how many singles they put out, too. At least they always include a track or two that's new.
I'm definitely expecting a FGMSSS rerelease here in the next 6 months haha. They haven't toured in like what, a year? If they keep this up imma start thinking things...
The band isn't done. At 40+ Jimmy and co have spent too much time on this to just abondon it when it's now become a real money maker. My guess is with them all having kids they're pulling out all the extra shit they've purposefully kept in storage until there was down time (kids, extreme circumstances like someone dying, the band breaking up, etc...) and they wanted to make a buck without too much work while they shift gears. I'm definitely expecting at least one more release from them this year. Probably in November. A nice, even schedule of once every 6 months (November 2010 for LeftRighs, April 2011 for Tighter, November 2011 for ???). Like I said, probably a new album. and by new i mean 50% old stuff we've heard for a decade that they are gonna try to pass as new, with 50% actual new material. Jimmy's gotta be writing his ass off with all this free time he has now. I expect the next album release to be a fat one. Frankenstein Girls "caliber" if you will, both in terms of effort and length.
are you sure there's only gonna be one version of tight? nuph was telling me there was gonna be various ones, which wouldn't surprise me... he sounded pretty excited about it.
yea, teeeeeeeeeeechnicalllllllllllllly there's gonna be a vinyl, a normal cd, and a deluxe edition with a whole bunch of extra shit as well as a chance to win that contest thingy. so yeah, like 4 versions of tight haha.
And here I thought Jimmy was never pulling a Trent Reznor ever again. Seems like since Trent did it with Pretty Hate, Jimmy thought why not do it with his self-ti- oh right, I mean "Tight" ;D
dickface demo in disgustingly bad quality. pretty much unlistenable the first 3-4 listens, then after that you can kinda start discerning what the fuck. one of the few demos where i think the final song is a 100% improvement.
hahaha yea. their shows stopped being good in what, early 2004? or was it sooner?
i would love to ask them what the hell happened. i'm assuming based on all the remarks i've read in some interview lately about the new leftrights album that they just got tired of putting forth so much effort and not getting a whole lot on their return. a shame =(
i can only assume it stopped being as fun. killing yourself on a nightly basis as well as spending many hours crafting a song and barely making enough to cover rent on top of other basic needs will test anyone's patience i'd imagine. steve did almost quit once, and he doesn't even do half as much shit as Jimmy.
watched the stickam last night. jimmy actually gave us some interesting information. like, he was showing people what songs he sampled for tornado and diabolical (mc lyte off the album ANOTHER PERSON. he couldn't remember what track haha). funny thing is i didn't know using lyrics but resinging them was considered sampling. also on this dvd/cd thing for tight there is over an hour's worth of video plus hidden video shit. i guess on it will have a clip showing how steve broke his hip as well as some character steve did back in the tight days that after a show or two wasn't allowed to do it again.
also, i guess there is a 45 minute commentary track where kitty, steve, and jimmy listen to tight in it's entirety and talk about it. sounds like they listen to the new stuff, too. dunno though.
16. Shnooze -new song
17. Cake -new song
18. I Hate Everyone -new song
19. If I Only Didnt Want To F The Ones Who Didnt Want To F Me -skit
20. Agents - new song?
21. Bring The Pain (new wave) -rerecording of the very first version of bring the pain. i guess the final version of bring the pain is 6 versions that he wrote "sliced together, and that is the msi formula"
22. Tornado (cassingle version) -b side
23. This Isnt Good -b side
24. Dickface (demo) -b side
25. Tight 8-bit -b side
26. I Think I Turned 22 -steve song
27. Free As A Birdie -steve song
i'm 100% getting this just so i can watch the videos and listen to the commentary.
anyways, i'm listening to it. the "remastered tight songs" don't really sound any different. i think it sounds like on diabolical that certain things were made slightly more audible in relation to the rest of the mix, but i don't have a dl of tight to compare, just a shitty "HQ" version of it on youtube haha. wait, the end definitely is different. doesn't get stupid loud. at least on my computer. any of either you gays listen to it enough to maybe pick out any differences my lazy ass has yet to?
the very beginning of bring the pain is definitely different. is maybe a quarter of a second long now, that starting beep. same with tight. the kick hits much harder.
they just got away with pr0n on jewtube, basiscally :3
i was referring to the fact that it looks an awful lot like Jimmy.
*ahem* SAUCE PLZ
huh, kinda does look like him... doubt it though :p
last i recall Jimmy's hair is all weird and shit when he doesn't put all this stuff on it.
since you brought this thread up recently, in case you weren't aware: http://www.theendrecords.com/releases/mindless-self-indulgence-tighter

I'll wait reserve my judgement on the re-mastering, until it's released.
I bet that whole umm ticket shiznay is one big scam :p Probably will announce fake winners ;p
Did you see that they are still selling AOA and AMRO at the The End store or whatever associated store of theirs etc.
I thought those were out of print or very very limited. :p
Yeah i will aswell, but I would like to think that it'll be small changes, maybe even improve the quality or something. I doubt he'd do a George Lucas. well the extras seem just like added extra b.s. to convince you to buy it, along with the contest etc.
Man, if MSI are good at anything, it's definitely milking releases. How many versions are there gonna be? If had like what? 5? 8? how many?
Well, let see...
Tight -2 (Tight, Tighter)
Frankenstein Girls -1
You'll rebel - 5 (japan, clean, dirty, remastered, vinyl)
If -6 (clean, dirty, deluxe, international, japan, vinyl)
And to think, DLN was to be the original starting place of them milking the fuck outta their releases. the trailers for the vids are aight
it's like: HEY REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE GOOD GUYS?! LOL
hahaha yea. their shows stopped being good in what, early 2004? or was it sooner?

Ja, i'd feel the same to be honest. Makes sense.
... but really, if they really had fun doing it, it wouldn't matter, but maybe i'm out of the loop on something.
Oh shush, you know you love them and you'll be getting this shit. Not purchasing of course, but then again, you did buy AMRO. Hah.
i can only assume it stopped being as fun. killing yourself on a nightly basis as well as spending many hours crafting a song and barely making enough to cover rent on top of other basic needs will test anyone's patience i'd imagine. steve did almost quit once, and he doesn't even do half as much shit as Jimmy.
Yeah, well, there are far more musicians that have it worse :p
lol, yeah, for selling it for a profit :p
I honestly will probably just leech it.
is this shit leaked yet?

I'll be getting it as soon as the store opens.
fucking bullshit people have had this thing since friday and no one has leaked it.
It's all over the place, now. Just search for it.
bullshit. i had to go through 5 pages of google before i found a link.
"mindless self indulgence tighter download"
hah, you just didn't check the right places. Always search in the Discussions section on Google, first.
ja, leaked on what.cd apparently :3

i'm still drunk, so i'm confused.
