Radiograffiti introduces two new slammin' Lo-Fi, Amigacore 7"s:

Artist: Stagediver
Title: "I"
Where to listen/download for free: http://www.stagediver.radiograffiti.org
Where to buy (physical): http://radiograffiti.bigcartel.com
Where to buy digital: iTunes, Amazon, http://www.stagediver.radiograffiti.org
Where to find an updated list of worldwide distributors for physical copies : http://radiograffiti.org
Where to watch the records in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wmMdf162jc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8QQ8YRbCjA
(Videos are mirrored at Vimeo and the respective Myspace profiles.)

Other info: This 7"vinyl is limited to a run of 300 copies strict, all of which come with a download card. The first 200 come with a large sticker of the album art and about 3/4 of the copies are spoken for already. Hand stamped, hand numbered, hand assembled.

Here's what ad noiseam had to say: http://www.adnoiseam.net/store/stagediver-i_p1884.html "Relentless but playful little 7" from the American Stagediver: it's all pretty hard, straight and very distorted, but the kind of industrial gabber presented here gets enriched a bit with some nice 8bit melodies and samples. So while it stays pummeling and arguably dark, it has quite a catchy and fun edge, providing the extra kick that should make of this a pick for squat hardcore and breakcore parties."

..and what wrecked-distro had to say: http://wrecked-distro.com/ "Well shit...just when you thought Milwaukee was done, somebody steps out of a time-machine from 1998. Two tracks of uncompromising break-neck 200bpm+ amiga hardcore, with a fuck-all attitude. Reminiscent of early bloody fist or doormouse's younger days. This could be the distort 7" that never was. Packaged with a b/w sticker. Essential."

Artist: Dispyz
Title: "Raverblood E.P."
Where to listen/download for free: http://www.dispyz.radiograffiti.org
Where to buy (physical): http://radiograffiti.bigcartel.com
Where to buy digital: iTunes (soon), Amazon, http://www.dispyz.radiograffiti.org
Where to find an updated list of worldwide distributors for physical copies : http://radiograffiti.org
Where to watch the records in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaK37CGAzDQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzBpyL_gw1Q and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9mLpYM9fE0
(Videos are mirrored at Vimeo and the respective Myspace profiles.)

Other info: This red-translucent 7"vinyl is limited to a run of 300 copies strict, all of which come with a download card and black skull-logo sticker. Some copies also come with a white-paint logo sticker and two buttons, but *only* while supplies last! Once again, hand stamped, hand numbered, hand assembled.

A snip from the official one-sheet:

*snip*
The sole purpose of this release was to have some of the first dispyz material see the light of day as it was originally intended before the resources were once again at a minimum. It’s been more of a hassle to keep this project going with all the failing floppy disks, HD crashes, and changing interests over the years, so this very well might be the first/last *official* physical dispyz release ever. Thank Christ.

The material on this record was written between the years of 1995 & 2004 on some random, modified pieces of ancient computer hardware, and while it is technically 8-bit music at the heart it is not to be confused with the terrible wave of hipsterfuck-elevator music which ended up finding it’s audience ten years later. This is the sound of a thirteen year-old’s nihilistic boredom.
*snip*

Zero compromise.

-------

If you are still reading this (and I'd be shocked if you were), further support material (banners, widgets, etc) can be found at http://radiograffiti.org on the sidebar. There are a few more physical releases lined up before 2010 hits, so keep your eyes open and your ears in good health!

A German magazine recently reviewed it actually... not that it's related to the question.

Stereochan was suppose to provide proof, but he's gone MIA, after the move. Muh.

It isn't yet unfortunately. I've tried mailing different distros several times to bite but no one wants the 8bit shit....not that I can completely blame them.

You guys can try to mail the likes of switch rec or ad noiseam and demand it in the event my mails were filtered. I have *just* enough copies to send out another distro round.

If you know of any local distros/shops let me know...this information is always appreciated.

Yeah, selling 8bit as just "8bit" is hard to come by.

The only way I've ever seen it sell, unfortunately... well rather, to better put: "appeal" (as I don't think it sell that much either) to people at a decent scale is via mostly youngsters... like pre-teens/early teens/mid-teens:

8bit mixed into horribly autotune-friendly pop trash.

http://www.myspace.com/unicornkid

http://www.myspace.com/smiletron

etc. Others would be like Sabrepulse and Henryhomesweet. Although, they tend to mix up a bit more then the aforementioned... sorta.... kinda.

The fanbase usually consists of mostly young girls in vibrant colours that tend to yell out "I LOVE YOU!" without hesitation and/or question and seem to act very fangirl-ish.

Although, it's been proven that teen girls buy more music than any other age/sex group. Apparently they become more obsessed easily. So. It's what helped the music industry survive for so many years :p

There's also the more upbeat electro/noize (but yet not over the top "pop") dance 8bit style that BleepStreet seems to want to promote/drive, which I think is a step in the right direction, and I tend to like, as it tends to stray away from the nostalgia driven shiznay you hear at chiptune related labels and the like etc

Although I still have yet to see this style appeal to a larger audience than the autotune chip-pop-stars :p Hurrrr, not to say that they appeal to a big audience... at the moment anyway.

Although, I will say this: While I can't ever enjoy stuff related to that pop crap that I mentioned, at least they mix it up a bit more than the old burnedout demoscene nostalgia bulldada.

Unfortunately though, I feel the "chip" scene (if you can call it that... if one even sorta exists) will end up looking like those kids such as Unicorn Kid in the near future. All that cutesy wootsy-pop-to-you-drop-autotune-ftw-i-have-vibrant-colours-look-at-me-i-am-hip-and-cool-does-my-hair-look-fine-i-am-a-super-hero-girls-love-me-be-mine-here's-my-radio-friendly-edit-i-love-you-without-question-or-doubt-cuz-i-just-say-it-randomly-without-thinking-chiptune. It's what the "kids" seem to like and enjoy or whatever.

If you think about it's just the same ol' pop-punk stuff that emerged in the 90s/early 2000s... you know... like that Blink-182 bulldada and all those similar bands which I can't remember what they are called lawlz etc. just now with cute bleep and bloops... which actually make it even more annoying, hahaha.

Muh.

But yeah, the only way you can sell 8bit is by not selling it as "8bit". Nor being a purist about it.

Look at Crystal Castles for one. Ethan uses chip sounds, but the music is not purely based on it. It simply is added to the mix. Nor did they ever try to promote the music as anything related to 8bit.

They simply sold it as music. As it should be. None of this bullshit nostalgia these retarded people obsess about. Grow up people. Move on and let go. Geezus.

This is what I tend to lean towards. I am not purist nor will I ever be. I enjoy it when people mix things up. Otherwise it gets bland and boring for me. This why I like Danger or Huoratron and the like etc. They don't try to sell it as 8bit or chiptune or retro. They just do it cuz it's music to them. Whatever feels good to them. Nothing more. No discrimination against a lead or drum kick simply because it's not 8bit or some crap... no fucking "scene" points. Fuck that.

/end_long_fucking_rant

do i feel passionate about this? FUCK YEAH :D haha

If by Mono you mean myself?

If by K you mean "because I will purchase them". Unless you run a store in which case you can purchase them at wholesale prices.
