This is my newest website project, called Blargh.tk - be exclusive!
Check it out, feel free to join.
http://blargh.tk
Blargh is a QUALITY over quantity website that focuses on great content. Each user can only have 1 post at a time (with 1 optional attached picture). With each new post, your old one gets automatically deleted. The only way for your post to stay alive for longer is when another user saves it as a favorite.
Features:
* rate posts with (+) and (-)
* save posts to your Bucket (as favorites)
* upload a picture with your post
* follow your favorite users
* old posts get deleted, as new ones get posted
* BBCode support, including youtube embedding

COMMENT FUNCTION NOW AVAILABAW!
hah thx, gonna try that forgotten password features haha
Edit: works, noice.
It'd be nice to know how many comments are added as well... you know to show "activity" etc
true. gotta figure out where to place that thing, though.
Edit: You can now see the number of comments each post has! :D
yo guys, I changed the interface a bit, and added an FAQ section.
I think shit's a lot easier to use now. I invite y'all to post your exclusive shit on there.
Hmm, looks cool. I'll register eventually. I'm going to set myself up with a new e-mail address.
Good to know! Invite your friends, too! :D
bump bump!
You can now rate other people's comments too, and also delete your own comments.
I made some improvements in the javascript, too.
Let me know if you guys run into any bugs.
I has a question, what is the purpose of following if one can't keep track of what people post after they post another post? What if you were to put a limit, say of 5 to 10 posts before one gets deleted, instead of automatically being deleted? It'd actually give more purpose to the follow feature, me thinks... no?
Well, imagine what would happen if 2000 people posted on Blargh at the same time.
There's no way you could find your friends' posts in the gigantic pool of piss.
That's why the Follow feature saves the day :D
btw I'm working on a new design that will look like a TV show lol.
lolz new design is up:
http://www.blargh.tk/
GOD IS IN THE T.V.
thats the name of a one minute silence song i think :S
guys, do I revert back to the original design?
this one looks nice, but has less features, as I don't know where to cramp the remainder...
Well, as long as it's able to serve its function. Then I'd say leave it. Simplicity is synonimous with elegance I feel.
But if there are vitally important features missing, then I guess you have no choice but to revert.
One criticism I have about most of your sites: It would be good for a prospective user to take a look (even if it's a limited one) at the contents of the site BEFORE signing up. I think you may be alienating people who would otherwise be desirable, active members of your communities.
At the very least I think you need a decent 'about' and 'FAQ' section on the signup page.
Good call, mate, your criticism is spot on. I do have About*, FAQ**, and Help*** pages, but they aren't too well thought out yet. In Blargh, I think you couldn't find the pages because the links to them were hidden in the new design. I've reverted Blargh back to the original design, but whoever wants, can browse the posts in TV mode, which can be selected from the top menu. This way, both designs can be utilized at the same time.
Also, RSS feeds are now available!

New Holiday layout, bigger images, and bigger videos:

You may wanna consider this to add to the overall vibe: http://www.schillmania.com/projects/snowstorm/
:D
I used it on tds last year... but a few folks complained their machines couldn't take it... so i minimized the use of it to a just a few snowflakes :P
I gave it a shot but it was distracting my eyes from the content.
btw, I shot an advertising video for Blargh:
It's so terrible I'm afraid I might lose some of my subscribers. OH WELL.
lolol, nicely done. I think people get the message clearly haha.
I was just thinking last night, that my site might be a bad thing, cuz the rating/save system promotes conformity?
Also, currently anyone can save their own post. Maybe I should limit this to a number, and when people go over this number, their ratings should go down?
well, people in general seek approval. look at facebook and tumblr etc. They have a "like" button. people love using it, even though it contributes absolutely NOTHING. it just shows approval. that's it. so it's a rating system, but purely positive.... now if you look at youtube, there is a dislike button... that's why you see so many entertaining and really retarded arguments on youtube. partially why anyway. cuz it invites your dislike and your criticism.
not sure about saving one's own posts or ratings going down though.
update: In your profile, anyone can see your posts that have been saved, a.k.a. the Archived Posts.
check eet out: http://blargh.tk/members/Sparx
I just removed the "One post at a time" rule.
Now you have all your previous posts saved, and you can access them by going to your profile! :)
I did some other minor changes, as well. Go check it out, you will not regret it!
