And now the mayor's resigning. Way to handle the responsibility.
And love parade is apperantly over.
It's like they intentionally killed it.

Jeah, who's idea was that? srsly.

Well, that's a load of fucking bullshit.

Why don't they ban cars every time people get in accident while they're at it.Why do people end up reacting like this all the time.

Just a few weeks ago, a 15 year old girl overdosed at a carnival/festival. They ended up banning any sort of event related to carnival/festivals and in particular "rave" like events in the LA county until further notice etc

You know, it's as if no one ever overdoses at a park, in their living room, in a car, at other public places... as if banning people from getting together will stop people from killing themselves regardless.

Fucking stupid shit.

...wait, what?

And yeah, it's retarded, and it's pathetic of the mayor to just step back now. What the fuck. Take some fucking responsibility, you bastard.

Hah, yeah, I heard about that shit too. It seems people just want to bail ship as soon as something serious needs to be sorted ;p

This is the "carnival", the girl died at:

Posted this already in another thread actually.

Gonna be attending HARD Summer fest next weekend (CC is headlining). Apparently it's gonna be even more packed, due to the other cancellation that occurred because of that 15 year old.... If I don't come back... tell the kids I never loved them.

Dude, totally. Girl @ 4:57 w/the booty shorts is totally mine. Damn.

xD

hahah. Nah, but yeah, I wouldn't call them ravers... most of these kids are just regular party/concert goes, that decide it'd be cool to slap on some kandi kid beads and "rave it up".

A lot of the males attending these events are just looking for a highly intoxicated girl to fuck/take advantage of... some people call them rave daddy's or some shit.

I remember back in Monster Massive, last year, how this one girl disappeared and her friends were really worried and started posting and putting up missing girl papers and whatnot everywhere. They Ccontacted the cops and everything. Apparently, they lost contact with the girl, after she left with her "rave daddy". She was on ecstasy I believe. Anyway, she kept contact with them throughout the night, but at one point she stopped responding. That is when they got worried and whatnot. Because "it's not like her". Turns out, a couple of people apparently spotted her, since she fit the description they gave out, later on that night. They said they saw her leaving with a pack of guys, her being the only girl. Oh boy. I'm sure you can only guess what happened. Well, she ended up appearing like 2 days later, I beleive. At first her story was that she was wandering out "alone" outside of the stadium/party fields, and some chick found her and took her to the Valley, where this chick lived to "take care" of her (as if calling the police to come pick her up wouldn't be the first logical thing to do with a stranger who is lost and on drugs). She didn't give a reason as to why she never called afterwards. Eventually, her friends break her in and she finally admits she ended up going with her rave daddy to a hotel, to fuck consecutively throughout the night and morning. Hurp. Friends apparently weren't surprise, because apparently she's a very promiscuous girl (hurp, they left that detail out ;p), so not very unlike her. But the strange thing is, why would she try to cover up having sex with "one" guy at first, when she's known to be a uhhh, very promiscuous. What's the big deal? Nothing. Doesn't add up. She probably ended up getting gang-banged or gang-raped and either enjoyed it or is was too embarrassed to admit it that it happened and felt very bad or some shit.

Ahhh, silly people.

You can be a male whore and blatantly state you are while being looked in awweeee in today's current society. hurp durp

... well, actually, unless you're a female pr0n star, then it becomes really cool that you're a whore hahahah. In fact, cooler than the males :p

lololol

That's not necessarily true, to an extent

There is a lot of amount of time a lot of girls put in to look really attractive. And a lot of girls can be very seductive. Something I can't say ever girl possesses or rather has really perfected it.

But yes, you are correct in regards to some males being pigs and would practically fuck anything that moves with their legs spread apart :p

Nice to see Cali is finally discovering rave. LOL.

Honestly though, the "raves" (massives) that Cali seems to be pushing lately is exactly the thing that the Midwest wanted to/tried hard to avoid for years. It was eventually ended for us in anti-rave legislation from Chicago due to a lawmaker's kid being involved in a rave-related death from what I remember. (A quick blurb from '01: http://www.cognitiveliberty.org/dll/Illravelaw.htm)

My take is this: Raves are (were) fronts for dealing/selling drugs and funding drug manufacturing. Anyone who says otherwise is either misinformed or trying to sell you something. Drop Bass Network is known for hardcore "acid"...the records promoted the parties, the parties were fueled by drugs, the drugs brought in more money for records which brought more parties, etc.

All rave promoters had a hand in this.

Anyway, fuck the Loveparade....shit's been played out for 10+ years.

I just woke up...I felt like typing. Fuck the world. Showering now.

Dude, Cali has been pushing massive raves for ages :p

They make most raves look like tiny parties, and have for years, since the late 90s when the old "rave", hit it's peak.

It never went "mainstream" so to say, but since were so big in numbers out here (population wise), it practically looks like it is... but it really isn't... well, in recent times... it seems to be shifting.

Although, I kinda disagree with the drug point of view. I don't believe earlier raves started out simply due to drugs fronts. Yes, I believe drugs pushers ultimately played a big part in it all, since they saw how profitable it could be... but I don't believe it was the main drive, at all.... not at first anyway. Today, of course it's a big drive... but these promoters do make a lot of money without the drugs anyway. So they'd still be doing it regardless of the drugs. Just like any other event.

Plus, there will always be drugs, regardless of the event/party. It's so common these days. It's practically the "norm".

Anyway, I'll be back in a few days, bbl.

Oh, and here's an example of what I speak of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Massive

"The first Monster Massive was held in 1997 and all subsequent events have been held at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Monster Massive 2006 was counted at 30,000 in attendance but 42,000 attended due to the closure of Giant Festival. Monster Massive of 2008 had a reported 65,000 tickets sold."

97 baby :p

Never as huge as say as some raves in europe i'd imagine, but that's because europe is gay and is *into* gay dance music in general... this is pretty big numbers in America... land of the great old worn out rock n roll, shit.

Also, in 2009, monster massive sold out completely..... I think we were 80,000+... it was crowded there, you had to fight your way through, no joke

The Cali rave comment was sarcasm! Dr Freeclouds is one of the oldest all-electronic record stores in the US; opening in 1994 I believe. They must have been selling to *someone* in the area! ;)

I will say this though: Monster Massive is America's Thunderdome. LO-fucking-L. (MIDWEST REPRESENT 1988 ACID-HOUSE BASH MOTHAFUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAA)

It is known that raves were/are/(should be) fronts for selling/dealing...I had a few books on the matter years ago but I'll have to see if they're still floating around here somewhere. There's a good reason why ecstasy is so closely related. Sure there are a few exceptions (as with anything) but overall it was one and the same....that was the appeal, which is why controlled parties almost have an air of illegitimacy to them.

On a semi-related note, I saw the most bizarre thing last night...I'll up a video of it before Tuesday. I'm nursing a hangover at the moment.

It's Tuesday. Where is the video? :p

You know, it could easily be said that my past high school, which housed troubled-teens/druggies/poor-grade-results etc. You name it, it had it (that was the whole point of the school... well, actually the whole point was to "better ourselves" LOL). As it brought all these elements together under one roof, exposing the worse of the school district and bringing them together to socialize. Many of these kids ended up *on* drugs due to attending this school. lolME for example. The environment presented, tells me that these unexplainable forces and faceless faces behind the scenes had this all planned out. That they knew kids would buy into drugs and just end up destroying themselves.... or is that really the reality?

At my school everyday was just another drug deal for a lot kids. Heck, people would end up doing it front of certain teachers, I wish I was joking. Kids would come under who knows what substance all the fucking time, everyday... if they could be bothered to come anyway (i'm not even sure why they would even bother to come, let alone i)..

I mean, this is just an extreme example of a school. At "regular" schools, this sort of stuff happens as well, on different levels (obviously). Thus it could easily be said, *in this day and age*, that schools themselves are product of drug fronts. That they ARE drug fronts. As they know there is a lot of money and future potential customers.

Now, this *could* be the case these days... who knows really, right? :p But I don't believe, the intention of my school or any other school for that matter was to sell you drugs and shit. The few teachers/counslers that actually cared, saids otherwise for one.

I believe this same logic can be applied to raves. Why? Because parties have existed for ages as well. Just as mind inducing substances as well.

Not all parties consist of getting wasted, but a lot do. More than usual however, the point of gathering is not to buy drugs or sell them for that matter. Usually it's to celebrate "something" with "someone". Although, that isn't to say there are no such parties that are made exclusively for such purpose (obviously), which validates your point obviously.

But to say that ALL, if not MOST, raves are/were for such purpose, I believe is simply eating the propaganda bullshit being fed to everyone. From the same people who enforce and restrict any sort of public gathering that cannot be capitalized in their own selfish gain or do it simply because they *can* gain something by doing so lolSchizophrenia4 in Detroit. How much money they make there Ty? The police/gov/lawyers, that is. By bringing the whole place down, even though no drugs were ever fucking present (to my knowledge anyway, at least that wasn't the purpose of the event/place to begin with, yet they accused it of being such anyway). I mean, I'm sure some people legitimately pushed to stop raves in certain areas simply because they lost a love one, at one point, and want/wanted justice. Wanted someone to pay for it. But to inflict that justice on all of us, simply because they're mad that their stupid child, bad parenting, and a drug dealer brought this to them? Fuck that shit. No one should be punished for someone else's actions. Fuck that.

Actually, if we use these similar logic... it could easily be said any big *mainstream* event in this day in age is fronted by some drug related substance. Alcohol anyone? In fact, they are fronted by drug related substances. The advertise at all sorts of events and sponsor it all, legally. However, how many of these events/places started up simply for the sole purpose to sell you alcohol? Seriously? I don't think that's the point of a lot of events. I think alcohol just happens to tag along, since they can make so much money off it, and a lot of people just happen to be addicted to it.

What I believe, is capitalism. We live in America. This is what we have been taught. We see an open door and we go through it. If you see something potential for something big, that can ultimately be in your favour, you will more than likely do it (if it's possible within your power). After all, we're all selfish cunts, right? FUCK YEAH AMERICA. ;D

I truly believe raves were simply capitalized by drug dealers and nowadays (since it's more possible) "legal vendors" with these massive mainstream raves at this point. Nothing more and nothing less.

"There is potential for business (illegal or legal), let us take advantage of it."

Is what I'd imagine anyone trying to sell you something would say.

There can be drugs and will be drugs everywhere... Everywhere where there's a massive gathering at one point or another, whether it be a school, a local party, the mall, soccer practice, a parade, my house, your house, apartments, compton, beverly hills etc. anywhere. The drugs will be there. They will always, always be there, from what I can see at this point in this day in age. Will we be accusing all these places of being simply drug fronts, their sole purpose, as well eventually? I mean, we *can*, if we wanted to really. Especially if it gets really really bad. We could easily manipulate it all to work as such. We would be right in some cases, I wouldn't doubt it, but in all? I *highly* doubt that.

Theres a similar, albeit more moderate than you described Mono, movement occurring in Australia atm. Especially this year there has been a huge push from government to raise awareness of the alcoholic habits of Australians (more like innate dependency). They're particularly concerned with the youths, rightly so mind you, I dunno what it's like in America but here theres perpetual calls for the price of alcohol to be raised (targeting mixed drinks, lol aptly dubbed "Alco pops") and a fierce vendetta against the abhorrent nature of youths under the influence. It's all fairly well based actually, theres really nothing wrong with what they're trying to do (except maybe the price hike-WILLTHEYSPARETHERUMZ?!) and it's a very touching motive, the real problem is that the youths are growing up. And becoming not unlike the generations which raised them. The adults *cough* of Australia don't seem to be all that concerned with the binge drinking and abuse of alcohol, certainly not enough to do much about it, but it's only getting worse and really attention is only truly given by senior generations if it all goes wrong and some poor kid dies in booze inspired violence. Seriously, Liver Cancer will be the No.1 killer in like 50 years.

It's not taken the very paranoid and gullible/extremist route that you describe Mono but in time... who knows. We don't get as hung up/excited as you yanks lol so maybe it'll never happen ;)

lol

Yeah, does anyone know of any studies conducting comparisons between say like a country from the Netherlands, who happens to be much more lenient in regards to what is dubbed "illegal" activity elsewhere, to a country like the Unites States or Australia etc. Anyone?

You know, I wonder to what truth does it hold, in regards to how much more people try certain things, simply because it's "forbidden". I mean, obviously there will still be users, but I wonder how much less or more.... and then to what extremes, if any. Is it something certain people do only at parties/gathering, due to it being freely available, or do they do it even more because of it.

I guess it'd vary a lot from case to case.

I think what freaks me out more is when I see parents encourage their young developing offspring to "drink up". Never understood that mentality.

An ex of mine had a father who would have her drink all the time, early on. I can't recall the exact age. He would brew his own stuff so... Anyway, there was a period where she was just living with her father and she'd drink every day at least once. It was worrying. Fortunately she moved out and only lived with him for a very short period of time.... wonder what sort of drunk she would have ended up (or perhaps she may end up as such still), had she lived with him throughout her upbringing, due to his foolish irresponsible actions.

Kids are so absorb everything after all. Teach them how to ride a bike early on and they'll never forget. Teach them how to drink early on and they'll never forget as well.

Well if you made everything legal you'd have no problems legally lolutopialol but that doesn't mean it stops being an issue. I see what you mean though Mono.
