The 0s and 1s do absolutely nothing, i figured it would look sexier to people using my computer -that entire box is animated (scollytext)
DAS IST SEX!!
D : Nice Lainz. Next time I'm home I've gotta check that out in person. Is that the same OS you've always been using? I feel I'm about due to try something new.

Its a picture Jhonen Vasquez did for Bioshock 2 I believe, and I've always loved his style, and creepy little girls, and huge robot killing machines. :D

Also, I spy Touhou games above! Nice one.
Of course. Granted, I've only been playing Shoot The Bullet and Undefined Fantastic Object, namely because they're so much *better* than the others.
You can run it side by side next to other operating system on a same machine, if ya like (gives you the option to when installing). I just preferred wiping out Vista completely.
Still need to adjust a few things.
I must say, it's a pretty nifty operating system.I mean, the default theme is black, you can't get any more gothic than that. haha. awesome. I actually like my PC again :')
Ubuntu is like a hybrid between OS X and Windows, in the way it handles. It's neat.
The only draw back is that some programs are not made for linux, BUT this is where Wine comes in: http://www.winehq.org/
Which runs a good chunk of Windows programs rather easily. So that somewhat sorts it. Somewhat.
There's plenty of open source projects that cover certain needed program anyway, like open office or gimp etc.
EDIT: Forgot to add it really is faster than when Vista was installed. It actually runs java stuff without lagging like hell for rone.
Well, when I someday get myself a good desktop computer, I'll probably have it as 7 with ubuntu on the side, for fun. aaand I didn't realize you could simply download it--good to know.

... but I need to customize a bit :p
Sexy Ubuntu desktop there, Mono.
If and when I start giving linux a go, I'll be using Ubuntu. I used to have a boot disc of it somewhere, although it's probably long gone by now.
Jeah, the old Vista machine finally died on me (may Vista not rest in peace), so I switched it out for Linux.
Which was rather easy. Just inserted the CD and was rather straight forward.
You're probably better off downloading the latest version anyway:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
Just burn it onto a CD like I did: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
and tada.
