That was excellent. I haven't seen anything homemade nearly as cool. Though there was one instrument in particular I really liked that I recently saw. I'll have to find it.
I can't find any video examples of this instrument. But I can explain it.
You will need a bunch of 1.25L plastic coke bottles, a bunch of bicycle tire pressure gauges, a bike pump, and a cigarette lighter. Some gaffer tape, some kind of stand for mounting your bottles on, and some drumsticks would be handy too.
Heat the pressure guage until it's hot enough to melt through the plastic lid of the coke bottle and then jam it in there, with any luck you should have an airtight seal. Repeat this process for all the bottles.
Pump air into all the bottles until you can't pump any more in, then slowly release the pressure in each of the bottles, while hitting them with a stick, until you get the tone you want.
It should sound a little like a glockenspiel.
-edit-
Of course, if the body of the bottle is touching anything, then it won't make a cool sound, as it won't have room to vibrate. So when mounting your bottles, affix them to the stand by the lids.
i like that song they had playing at the end of the drawdio video... i wonder if thats something they made just for the vid? or if its a band that uses drawdio... regardless i want one.
Never had any experience with such. Although, reminds me a bit of what Tyler aka Stagediver was using at Blip... i can't recall the name of the contraption at the moment though. I'd have to ask again xD
Saw a blues band (similar sound to John Spencer Blues Explosion) last Sunday night who's drummer was playing a drum made of an upturned recycling bin, an artists canvas, a distortion pedal and a microphone. It was awesome.
Very noiiice ^_^
Really cool.
I've seen various over the years on le internet, but I haven't got any links at the moment. Gonna have to dig for some ;D

Hmm, sounds like something I may have seen before Rob, but might be slightly different... not sure without vid, obviously.
Quirky little thing ^_^
The tree concept is nice, but the composition was eehh, had it's moments though, the percussion being the best out of it all really.
I think we've all seen this one, but may as well post it anyway in case someone hasn't seen it on here:
NGYAAAAAAAAAAAH
is also the sound I make when I watch that Drawdio video. I'd love to have whatever set up allowed him to "draw a synth".

da fuck? dude, that's fucking badass hahah
quriky as fuck.
This isn't exactly the same kind of thing but does anybody have experience with the "Where's The Party At?" DIY sampler?
