Radiograffiti presents:

RGV-005
Dispyz - "Datarunner E.P."

Radiograffiti release page: http://www.radiograffiti.org/dispyz-datarunner-e-p

A. Datarunner
B. 4.1.4.

Next in Radiograffiti's release queue comes the very uncompromising final output from Tyler St Clair's Dispyz project, the "Datarunner E.P."

This release has something of a storied history, not because it pays homage to the early 80's Milwaukee hacker crew the 414's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_414s), but because of the incredible amount of adversity we had to face to make this release possible. Fucked-up tests, strikes by nickle miners in Canada, plating costs being raised by 300%, labels melting on the pressing machines, release parties being cancelled...you name it.

Some call it persistence, we call it stupidity. We stuck with it and it's finally here, for better or worse.

Was it worth it? Well, if you think the world needed a limited, translucent green, lo-fi, Amigacore vinyl dedicated to the golden age of computer hacking like we did then yes, it was certainly worth the migraines and monetary loss.

Here's what's included:

- Translucent green 7"
- Black skull logo sticker (while supplies last)
- Large tracker logo sticker (also used for upcoming t-shirt design, more info on this soon.)
- Two dispyz buttons (while supplies last, see our flickr profile to see photos of these)
- Download credit for your preferred file format of the Datarunner E.P. via the dispyz Bandcamp profile

The bandcamp download also includes a bonus .torrent file containing the .mod version of Datarunner (featured in the homebrew Amiga Tracker Hero game), the 7"/Octamed Soundstudio version of Datarunner, and a few extra samples of synths, breaks and dialogue to pass along for use on the Amiga line of computers. For those who are interested, one of the sample folders contains all samples from "We Came To Overtake". Go nuts.

Vic 20s mashed with Run DMC?
Metal breakdowns by way of squarewaves?
Gangsta rap chopped over screaming rave synths?
Yeah, this shit is real. It's been a good 15 years dispyz. R.I.P.

Just got a RG email, and I'm curious as to what the deal is with the Exclusive Co.

Basically, they never paid up. The contract gave a two month window to pick up the 7"s along with any payment sold, yet when I went to pick it up they said it was "too late" and took the 7"s as their own. Total bullshit and they've fucked over Vicious Pop too a few times from what I've been told. I usually recommend that people steal RG records from all Exclusive Co locations.

Rush Mor should have both the Datarunner 7"s and the new CCDM 7"s very, very soon. Shortly after that they'll have RG related shirts/other stuff. If anyone from the Milwaukee area is interested in these, I suggest buying from them and not direct through RG as it helps with write-ups/radio-play....even though it's been non-existent so far.

Well that's pretty fucked up.

I'll be making my Datarunner purchase shortly (i'm running on a fever at the moment though)... or actually, perhaps could I get it all bundled up with the CCDM?

Wow, that sucks. I was at the Exclusive Co. on Farwell a few months back to see if they had any of the records there still and the guy didn't find anything in the system.

OK, since no one else has mentioned that the "Datarunner" side of this record plays from the inside towards the outside I'm guessing that's a common thing? Took me a while to figure that out...

EDIT: Also, somebody seed the torrent please :)

Currently seeding the torrent..did anyone else (Mono/Brad) have luck downloading the torrent from myself, or do we have another Radiograffiti torrent shitstorm on our hands?

FUCK.

Inside-out is correct, but isn't mentioned to confuse those who expect it to play the correct way. BAM! GOTCHA! The original plan was to have the needle fall off the record when finished playing...but figured that it was a pretty "bad" idea.

The .rar files are password protected but are dead-easy to figure out. Password is supplied with the .WAVs

I'm in a hotel right now with free internet access! Actually at the annual Commodore meet I attend every year. I believe Ella will be showing up as well....although I'll be missing Brad's B-Day because of it. SADFACE.

Point being, these are seeding right now. I see the CCDM one downloaded partially, the datarunner one not so much. I guess I'm a total noob with ze torrents. FUUUUUUU

Let me know if there's any luck.
